I just got off the phone with a rep from IC Systems who threatened me because I couldn't pay them. Told me I shouldn't sign a contact then.
When I told her what I could and when I could pay, she told me it wasn't good enough. She was rude, condescending, impersonal and attempted to make me feel horrible.
I hung up on her and just shot an email off to their client relations address. I also copied the address to IC Systems and will send them a letter demanding they quit calling me to collect debt.
IC Systems is a comedy of errors, as was my account that got turned over to them and neither the OC or IC systems can tell me why....I have a 730 credit score and am not late on my payments, in fact most of my CC's are PIF ea month......Well IC systems called my house phone so many times I unplugged it, they then started calling me at work, I said do not call me here and she said "Are you going to be this stupid over $39 freaking dollars" and I said yes, I spoke with the OC and they said my account should not be in your office......I was told they could call me where and when they pleased......I paid the $39 to the OC closed the account and now I get a letter twice a week practically begging me to come back but I refuse to have dealings with them since their grievous error.
I also want to say as an accountant in Federal taxation NO...your taxes ARE NOT going to pay some one elses Accounts.......Do your research before offending people please
I guess it must be nice to have every luxury and afford it, but sometimes things come up, and it doesnt seem to me that the people from ic systems understand this! Im being harassed about a bill that is my husbands, and we werent married at the time, the lady I talked to was very rude telling me I shouldn't have married into debt and that I shouldnt be living outside my means. Well at the time he got this service, he could afford it, ***, he had it for two years, and then lost his job. But no, now i have these rude people down my throat everyday and Im not taking it. I did get rude back, but what do you expect, we're a family of three and right now times are tough, and again, THINGS HAPPEN. Im so tired of hearing "if you cant pay it dont get it"! Maybe people could afford things at the time and then something happens. These people that work for this company seem to be just plain inconsiderate and might get a little further if they werent so rude from the time I say hello!

For the guy who said that he is a PROFESSIONAL Collector. No such thing! Many collectors like to blame the auto dialer system as the cause. Numbers can be removed from the auto dialer as easily as they were added. I know because I work in the financial services industry that has a call center full of collectors.

What should you do if a debt collector is intimidating or harassing you?
(1) Find out if the collector is violating the FDCPA or your state's laws. If so, send the collector a certified letter, return receipt requested, telling them that you believe he is in violation of the FDCPA or your state's laws; and, if you want
(2) Tell the debt collector you want him to stop phoning you at home and at work.
(3) You can file a complaint online at www.ftc.gov. The FTC is the body in charge of regulating debt collection agencies. They will not handle your case personally, but you should report the agency anyway, since they will sanction the agency if it receives enough complaints from consumers.
(4) Report the activity to your State Attorney General's office. They will investigate the matter.
(5) You can also gather evidence by recording phone conversations with the debt collection agency. If you can prove the debt collector used illegal tactics, you can sue for damages under the FDCPA.
38 states DO NOT Require you to let the debt collector know that they are being recorded. AND if they say that "In the state of XYZ we CAN call you at home just not at work". WELL Under FEDERAL LAW they are considered to be a 3rd party collector so YOU CAN ask them to stop calling you at home. The only time that does'nt apply is if they are the ORIGINAL creditor.
Wow! I see that some one thinks if I don't pay my bills the government is going to pay it for me.... ie. with taxes. If that was even remotely true, noone would ever pay a bill. Wish some people would learn a little about what they are ranting about before they go off.

I work for IC System. I am a PROFESSIONAL debt collector. I do want to apologize for calling the wrong number, however we do have an auto dialer. As for debtors, I believe that if I, an 18 year old, can pay my bills everyone should. If you can’t pay for them then don’t get the service! I do understand some circumstances are unforeseen, and sometimes unavoidable, however make payments, paying something is better then nothing.
I love my job! I take incoming phone calls and get to be the “good cop” . Think about it if the calls to you didn’t make you concerned then would you call back and pay. We send out letters all time and most people disregard them until the calls start. I guess all I would like to do is have everyone that is complaining about us do our job for a day! Most people would quit in an hour. My first day EVERY calling people I was called every name in the book within the first hour of doing my job. We don’t threaten we advise you about what can possibly happen if the bill continues to go delinquent. Lastly, we wouldn’t b so demanding if people actually paid their bills!
"whatever the debtors don't pay because their butts are too loaded paying their cell phone bills instead, I will have to pay for their debts with my taxes"
In all defense, I am just looking from both point of view. If someone else owes you money, you expect it back in a timely fashion, no one wants to push for money that's why we have collection agencies. A collection agency does not have customer services, if you want customer service then go to Burger King. The customer in their view is the client that they are collecting for, the consumers are the debtors. Do you see the difference? On occasions you have those who can't pay their bills and those who simply are bums and won't get off their buns to pay any bills but expects the food for free. You are given a time frame before being put in collection, don't you think it is fair that they are harsh at times? There are people who wait six months or one year to pay their bills, don't you think your electricity would have been cut off by that time? I personally don't feel sorry for anyone. A medical bill is different from all bills. It is unexpected and life sometimes has that but other than that then everyone deserves what's coming to them. You had time and bills, PAY THEM. And just FYI, whatever the debtors don't pay because their butts are too loaded paying their cell phone bills instead, I will have to pay for their debts with my taxes, so I say if you owe money, then pay it otherwise, you deserve what you get it. It's not a surprise, you got the service, pay the god *** bill!
